About me

I am a graduate from NIT Surathkal, with a great interest for solving puzzles and studying philosophies. I teach mathematics from grade 9 till JEE-Mains.

Academic qualifications & Experience

I did my B.Tech. from NIT Surathkal in Electronics and Communications. I have two years of experience in teaching mathematics and 1.5 years of experience in using the online platform for teaching.

Teaching Methodology

I believe that the most important aspect while tutoring, apart from the tutor’s expertise of the subject and tutoring skills, is to have a good rapport with the student and make the student feel comfortable. So, I spend the first few classes understanding the nature of the student and making him/her feel comfortable with me and also with the subject matter. Then the student can begin to appreciate the core concepts of mathematics rather than just learning some problem-solving techniques. 

These are some things that I incorporate in my classes to make the teaching effective.

1. We begin each class with a revision of the background knowledge required to understand that day’s topic.
2. I break the whole topic into smaller parts so that students can easily grasp them, one at a time.
3. As soon we complete discussing a sub-topic, we solve some questions based on that before going to the next one.
4. Towards the end we look into summary of the class where I encourage the students to explain in their own words what they have learnt that day.
5. Further I test the students by giving practice questions of different varieties to understand where they may be facing difficulty in applying a particular concept.
6. Of course, I will be giving regular feedback regarding their performance.

All these together will make learning mathematics a comfortable and fulfilling experience to the student.
