IGCSE Online Tuition

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE) was developed by the University of Cambridge Assessment International Education(CAIE) and is recognized and accepted globally (in over 10,000 schools in nearly 160 countries worldwide) for 14 to 16 year old students. It is also recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, as an international alternative to the national boards and is offered by around 500 reputed schools in India. The IGCSE is a 2-year program starting at class 9 and creates a foundation for higher level courses like the International Baccalaureate Diploma program, A level and the North America Advanced Placement Test. The Cambridge International Education has also launched its Cambridge International Primary Programme that enrols students from 5 years to 18 years. IGCSE offers over 70 subjects and 30 languages out of which a student can select a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 14 subjects. The core subjects offered by this system of education are first and second languages, Mathematics and Science subjects. Choices are also available to pick up Social Science, Arts, Technical and Vocational subjects.

Edge over other curricula:

IGCSE has a holistic assessment approach that includes written examinations, and verbal and listening tests assessing their content-rich programme which promotes learning and investigative skills leading to a problem-solving approach in learners. The focus is on gaining knowledge resulting from prioritising practical knowledge. All concepts are funneled into intellectual inquiry, adaptation and response to change, interaction and communication in English, cultural awareness, subject content and application based real life examples to familiarise students to new and familiar situations. Students preferring this board usually pursue higher studies in the United Kingdom and other countries abroad.
The grading system is an 8-point scale, A+ to G, A+ being the highest grade awarded. The students are awarded merits on a three-tier grading system, that is, distinction, merit, and pass. The examinations are conducted in February, May and October. IGCSE students receive individual qualifications for every subject taken. The IGCSE curriculum caters to the local regions by prescribing localised content and still adhering to an international standard. .
