ICSE VII Science

ICSE VII Science

  • Curriculum :  ICSE
  • Grade :  VII
  • Subject :  Science
  • Type :  One To One
  • Summary :  Under the ICSE system, Science taught In Class 7 covers a range of topics to increase the basic knowledge of students, to educate and train in a way that ignites a spark of curiosity in them. Through a structured system of thoughts and ideas, they are placed in a better position to understand topics that help develop their mode of thinking and also urge them to test and conclude experiments based on the fundamentals taught in this grade.

Course Description :

Science plays a key role in the future progress of mankind and the syllabus is designed to incorporate topics that we witness in our day-to-day lives. The current curriculum extends and enhances our knowledge in majorly 3 disciplines i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Physics, an integral part of Science, engages the pupil’s mind to create new technological advances followed by inventions and discoveries in the areas of basic and scientific fundamental principles relevant to our lives. Physics enriches our lives and makes the world a better place to live in through its major scientific breakthroughs. Chemistry, an underdog, helps develop theories and design models that people use daily to familiarize themselves with the nature of science. It helps students to familiarize themselves with the nature of chemicals and chemical processes that have the power to derive numerous experimental conclusions to problems relating to health, food, energy, clothing, clean air, water, etc. Biology as a leading subject focuses on the development and preservation of the living world considered to be essential in maintaining ecological balance. It provides answers to questions about the evolution, formation, distribution, origin and structure of various species of flora and fauna.

Edugraff’s Methodology

The Edugraff Teaching system adopts a systematic learning approach that improves students’ critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills. The materials designed by teachers, possessing in-depth knowledge, are striving toward tapping pupils’ core competencies by asking questions and also providing structured feedback. This connection accorded by Edugraff between student and teacher through one-to-one interaction inspires both the committee to work hard towards developing scientific literacy. Through our online portal, students are trained to identify core topics, assess the presentation, and reflect on the thought process, method, and inquiry. It is a good platform for students to discuss their understanding with the teacher. This customised approach helps in eliminating doubts and being thorough with the basics to secure good marks in the current academic year and also helps in higher classes.

Skills that our students learn

The aim is to increase the potential confidence in the student by providing scientific literacy. The process of one-to-one interaction motivates pupils to adopt an investigative approach which will gradually create a love for this subject and also eradicate the inherent fear attached to this subject. In a gist Grade 7, students learn: To identify the various organs of the excretory system in the human body, a detailed study on plant and animal kingdom, the role played by tissues in our body, types of energy, its characteristics, and methods to measure them, distinguishing between metals and non-metals and understanding properties of solids, liquids, and gases, the relationship between physical and chemical changes, the vital role played by atom in science and ways to analyse the chemical processes through chemical reactions.

FAQ :

1.   How will online tutoring benefit the student who dislikes science?
The mission of our learning portal is to provide support to both lovers and non-lovers of science. The idea is to make observations, ask questions, use intuition and think creatively, explore possible solutions.

2.   What is the teaching method adopted by Edugraff for each session?
We encourage an active learning process during lectures whereby the student is in a position to clear his doubts. The group discussions, index card questions and a daily 10-minute revision will make the process very exciting.

3.   How will the thought process be invoked in a child to score well?
The child has explained the topic in detail followed by a questionnaire. At this stage, the child can ask questions and make detailed analyses on each topic. After that, the teachers will provide them with relevant notes followed by feedback as to the child’s progress. It is a gradual process requiring time, energy, and effort at both ends.

4.   How much is the time limit and methods for resolving doubts and the methods to eliminate them?
Normally a doubt-solving session is conducted after every chapter. But the pupil can be in touch with the teacher through e-mails, the response to which is provided within 2-10 hours, keeping in mind the time difference between countries.
5.   Will the material provided be sufficient enough?
The material provided is accumulated, analyzed, and drafted after scanning through science textbooks, guides, workbooks, and after surfing through the internet. The qualified teachers chalk out a study timetable catering to students’ specific needs and then give it to the students.
