WA Year 9 Science

WA Year 9 Science

  • Curriculum :  WA
  • Grade :  Year 9
  • Subject :  Science
  • Type :  One To One
  • Summary :  Year 9 WA curriculum is a part of the two-year program describing the science inquiry skills and science as a human endeavor. The expectation of achievement is planned to keep the scientific understanding in perspective.

Course Description :

In Year 9, students study the human body, its systems, and the effects of the external systems on it. They also study the biotic and abiotic components of the various ecosystems and their relationships and dependencies on each other. Students explore the detailed structure of the atom and the role of chemical changes in the rearrangement of matter.  They understand the importance of conservation, learn newer ideas of energy transfer and apply this knowledge to global systems.

Key features of the syllabus:

Students of Year 9 achieve the proficiency of explaining atomic processes with respect to atomic nuclei and their decay as a source of radioactivity with the help of wave and particle models of energy transfer. They also become adept in understanding the various geological systems, their timelines, and biological systems, their response to changes, and their interdependence with the external systems. Developing inferences using authentic evidence and data analysis, suggesting actions to improve the results, and familiarising themselves with scientific language and notation, to communicate their findings effectively, are skills that students learn in WA Year 9 Science course.

FAQ :

1. My child is a little wary of Science. How can Edugraff help?

Edugraff teachers use the kinesthetic way of teaching which essentially means learning by experimenting. This builds interest and curiosity. A student achieving results by performing the experiments himself will achieve a sense of accomplishment and hence develop confidence.

2. How do I ensure that my child is regular and keeps his assignments up to date?

Kindly share the school timetable and assignments of your child with his Edugraff tutor. Also, keep in touch with the tutor so that gaps, if any, may be addressed in time.
