Course Description :
Nutrition in plants and animals works around modes of nutrition, photosynthesis, the food making process in green and non-green plants, digestion in humans, digestion in grass-eating animals and feeding and digestion in amoeba. Respiration in humans, aquatic animals and plants, the circulatory system, excretory system and transportation of nutrients in plants, reproduction of plants and the sourcing of wool and silk, their processing and uses are other topics studied in Biology.
In Physics, Measurement of Time, speed, distance-time graph, air pressure, cyclones and thunderstorms, Electric current, heating and magnetic effect of electric current, electromagnets, path of light, reflection, mirrors and lenses and components of light are taught as a base building for higher studies in the following classes. Chemistry, in class 7, deals with the introduction of acids and bases, certain reactions based on them, neutralization reactions, physical and chemical changes, rusting of iron and crystallization.
Certain general issues like water management, sewage disposal, depletion of the water table, scarcity of water and sanitation are taken up to keep the students aware of their environment.
