Course Description :

Number theory takes a new turn with the introduction of rational and irrational numbers in addition to natural numbers, whole numbers and integers. Laws of exponents are revisited.

Algebra deals with a detailed explanation of polynomials, linear equations in one variable and two variables, zeros of a polynomial remainder and factor theorems and algebraic identities.

The basics of coordinate geometry are introduced with respect to the Cartesian plane.

Euclid’s geometry explains obvious notions, axioms, postulates and theorems. Other aspects of geometry are covered under parallel lines, the related angles, triangles, congruence and certain theorems related to triangles, quadrilaterals, basic areas of parallelograms and triangles and circles.

Mensuration: this entails the calculation of surface areas and volumes of 3D objects like cubes, cuboids, spheres, hemispheres and right circular cylinders and cones.

Statistics is very basic and introductory which includes a collection of data and its presentation, making simple bar graphs, histograms and frequency polygons. It also includes the definition of mean, median and mode of ungrouped data.

Methodology in Class 7 CBSE Maths Tuition

CBSE Class 7 Mathematics is essentially an extension of Class 6 mathematics barring a few topics which are introduced. Students are encouraged to practice HOTS, as these concepts are very helpful in the coming years. Working on higher order questions builds the strong base that we aim to have in our students.

Learn from CBSE Grade 7 Online Maths Tutor

Students walk out of this grade with a crystal clear understanding of virtually all basics required to master Mathematics up to grade 10. Students who were not comfortable with certain topics in grade 6 can use this opportunity to work on their shortcomings and polish all skills.

    FAQ :

    1.   Why is the syllabus of grade 7 so repetitive of grade 6?

The topics introduced in class 6 are the basic requirements for almost all topics to be covered up to class 10. Also, they are quite vast and require a lot of practice to be comfortable with. Hence, they have been divided in two years so that all aspects are covered. It, in no way, means that any of the grades are expendable. You need to understand that the topics are the same but the subtopics are advanced in class 7.

    2.   What additional work should I take up to be thorough?

Edugraff gives you ample practice to ensure that you are comfortable with all the topics. However, if you want to take up more practice, which is always good, you can refer to the class 7 Mathematics book by R. S. Aggarwal.
